1350 yards swimming: 2-450 free/50 back and 350 yards free. The water warmed up a bit, and I used the cold water cap for 1000, then took it off. Also, there were a lot of the M&M size beatles in the pool again. I netted them and then sanctioned them with the kickboard on the pool deck.

1300 yards: 1050 free, 125 back and 125 breast. We waited out the storm and left to go swimming about 1AM. The frogs were having sex in the pool! We spent the first 30 minutes or so getting them out so we could swim. We ended up both cutting our hands on the net near the end.

CWMM Awards
My fav band, Iron Wranglers, were big winners at the Country Western Metal Music (CWMM) Awards. "Fire on the Levee" won best album, "Death Tractor" won best single and "Satan's Sunday Service" won best video. Awesome. I'm really looking forward to the next album, "Atomic Cattle Prod". Black work boots and the red Stetsons with the barbed wire jewelry are hot sellers here in S AZ.

Wednesday: 550 yards (450 free and 100 back) until my right shoulder started bothering me. So, I walked about 800 in the pool. Exhibitionists 2 were in the hot tub and FFN was cruising the men's locker room in a pink Hawaiian shirt.
Thursday: Parts of SB1070 blocked. My friend Kenny retired today! Cardio and Weights: 1.25 miles on the treadmill including 0.5 miles jogging, bench press, squats, dead lifts, shoulder press, curls and wrist free weights, CYBEX leg press: 20 at 175. Mr. Ellipse was in the house and this loud girl sat on the CYBEX machine for about 20 minutes yakking to a Crocodile Dundee ("Oh my god", "Yeah mate"). Heavy rains started (Thunderbolts and Lightning, very very frightening) after we got to the pool and we got out of the club before the street flooded. Ate dinner from Beyond Bread, then went to sleep.

We went to dinner at Ginza and then saw "Get him to the Greek" at the Crossroads 6.
While we were at the movie, it rained a little bit.

No one else was in the pool or hot tub while we were there. :-)
A tow truck came to the parking lot to rescue someone.
The battery in the emergency exit door is low and the alarm was chirping while we were there.
And a pickup truck took out a tree on the median divider coming south on Swan near Ft. Lowell on the way home.

The pool is warm enough now that we don't need to take a hot tub before swimming.
There weren't so many bugs in the pool, we were able to clear the lanes with the net.

01 July 2010: Cardio, weights and quote
Cardio and weights. 1 mile on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the bike, free weights (bench press, squats, dead lifts, shoulder press, curls and wrists) and CYBEX (leg press).
Mr. Ellipse was in the house, acting as weird as ever.
Rugger and his g/f were in the cardio room.
There was an excellent quote on the board the other day, "Reading a recipe is like reading science fiction: when you get to the end you think that’s never going to happen.". I checked online and this is apparently from Farmer John’s Vegetable Cookbook.

The Exhibitionists were in the hot tub, sitting on the steps so that we had to climb over them to get in and out of the tub. Annoying!

CIA files suit against Arizona Immigration Law

Special Guest Stars: Southern Arizona Tea Bag Party (SATB)
The SATB sponsored a handball tournament at Da Gym. They had to stop when they ran out of handballs, took over the Lobby, Free Weight Room and Cardio Room, switched all the TVs to Fox News and watched stuff about the SB 1070 Immigration Bill.
Suddenly, the TV turned to snow, "Go Tea Baggers" came up on screen, followed by an endless loop of Sarah Palin's saying "Drill Baby Drill" followed by pictures of the Oil Slick about to hit New Orleans.
Then, "The Hacker" came on the TV and laughed like "The Joker" on Batman.
The Tea Baggers all said, "That guy is really mean!"

Treadmill, bicycle, Free Weights (bench press, squats, pullovers, shoulder press and dead lifts) and Cybex (leg press and calves). I stopped the Super Squats program after recovering from the last time. I started back at 150 lbs with the seat reclined to work my quadricepts.
Diver was swimming fly and spitting in the pool! G&D!!!!
The Exhibitionists were standing in the weight room, seeing if they could get anyone to look at them. Annoying!

"News of the Weird" explained that this is an Aztec/Mayan game like field-hockey played with a fireball (!), sometimes played at night on unlighted fields.
Tonight, "Da Gods" vs "Da Humans". If Da Gods win, Da Humans die and will be resurrected as the Sun and Moon. Outdoors on Court 7, unless it rains and then the lights will be turned out and the game will be inside on Handball court 2a.

I had a really bad day at Da Gym. I hogged the cardio machines, cutting in and out of the Cybex circuit, slamming weights, grunting, leaving the machines sweaty, leaving weights on the equipment, leaving my towel on the floor in the shower, racing a senior citizen on the Cardio machine, dropping my Mars bar on the carpet and leaving it there to melt, letting mosquitos in the weight room, and taking a hot tub in my gym clothes.

08 April 2010: Da Gym: Episode 6
Special Guest Stars: Candid Camera and Zo Carroll and the Soul Breakers
Candid Camera (CC) sets up two Photo Enforcement Vans just outside the Club on Friday night before the Barbeque. The Vans flash every car that goes in and out of the Club and no one can figure out why they are getting ticketed.
CC is laughing until the Citizens Against Photo Enforcement (CAPE) make an Intervention. A "Truly Nolen" VW pulls into the parking lot and a Citizen sets up laser designators on both Vans. Then, he takes off for the River.
The CAPE Cobra Helicopter swoops in low over the western notch in the Catalina Mountains, drops green smoke over the Club to signal the Intervention and turns around and fires two Hellfire knock off missiles at the Vans, destroying both of them, and creating two bonfires in the parking lot. The Cobra flies out to the River, picks up the Citizen and high tails it back to the CAPE Compound.
The party moves from the Pool to the parking lot. Everyone get a skewer and roasts weiners. Zo Carroll and the Soul Breakers sing "Light My Fire"
In the interview, Candid Camera says, "Those guys are really mean".

The three wrestlers were in the free weight room. One was working out. One was weighing himself. The third was talking about all of the junk food he ate (ribs, onion rings, fries, ice cream..) and that he gained 3 lbs!

01 April 2010: New reality show, "Da Gym", based on my blog
I was contacted my a major TV network about creating a new reality TV show, "Da Gym," based on my Blog!
All of the annoying characters (Breather, Diver, Spitter, Under Armor, Lost, Miss Anorexia, Mr. Ellipse, Yakker, Dumbell, The Nasty Girl, Two Stupid Boys, Skank Patrol, The Loud Mouth Fat Girls and The Sweaty Guy) will be in the show along with special guest appearance by Marius Pudzianowski!
Our Dinner Favorites will be featured in the after workout meals!
In the first episode, Susan and I join the gym and go to workout in the weight room. The Two Stupid Boys are making a lot of noise and Marius tells them "Byc spokonjy" ("Be quiet, " in Polish). Then he, picks up the barbell they were lifting with one hand! The Two Stupid Boys start crying, then they are interviewed and complain that, "He was really mean to us!"

Diver was swimming fly in the pool and splashed water all over the deck. A new guy ("Under Armor") wearing all Under Armor gear with an Under Armor bag did a one lap circuit of the entire free weight room! Annoying! Miss Anorexia AZ 2010 was sitting on the stationary bike reading a Diet Magazine. And, finally, another guy ("Dumbell") was walking laps around the gym, all over, carrying dumbells, bumping into things and tripping over stuff. I guess he couldn't remember where the dumbell rack was!
Then, I went home and had Super Soup with Susan. :-)

2050 yards: 1775 free, 175 back, 50 breast and 50 fly. I used my new orange paddles for 200 yards and found out how to stop water leaking through the paddle by holding my hand flat.

Then we had soy kielbasa, saurkraut, potatoes and super salad! :-)

TUCSON - A 62 Year-old man was killed in a 4 vehicle accident Wednesday. It happened just after 10AM near 22nd and KOLB in Tucson. A second person injured in the accident was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The names of the victims have not been released.A witness says he was driving along 22nd Street when another vehicle crossed the median and struck two vehicles behind him.One lane of traffic is stilled closed. Tucson Fire Department says it's unsure how long the area will be closed.

The big pool was open, but it was really cold, so we swam in the small lap pool. It got really cold at the end, cold enough for the Matrix Coats. Then we went home and had pizza, salad and Tofutti Ice Cream :-).

The Nasty Girl was in the Downstairs Cardio Room, Mr. Ellipse was in the Upstairs Cardio Room and Two Stupid Boys were in the Free Weight Room (one was yelling "Drive It" while the other one was laughing). Annoying! :-(. I continued the "Super Squats" program on the Cybex leg press: 20 reps at 220 lbs. :-). And then I went home and had Super Spaghetti with Susan :-).

15 March 2010: Power Blackout
There was a power blackout in our neighborhood tonight. We decided not to go to the gym because the garage door was open. So, we're going tomorrow.
Susan made Super Spaghetti while I held the flashlight. Of course, the power came back on right after we finished eating.
Then, we took a walk around the neighborhood. Two Tucson Electric Power trucks stopped near us on the other side of the road and we talked with the guys. They told us that a rat, who was foreclosed on and evicted from his rat hole, had eaten through the wires in the box up the street and got electrocuted. We walked by another power box that was beeping.
The stars were really bright tonight. It was windy and clear. The city lights, in the distance, were really nice too.
Tomorrow, I am going to the hardware store to get some more batteries and a flashlight light bulb.

1950 yards: 1675 free, 175 back, 50 breast and 50 fly. I did just over 6000 yards this weekend! :-). I need a new cap and goggles and I am going to get some paddles too.

13 Mar 2010: Swimming
2300 yards: 2000 free, 200 back, 50 breast and 50 fly. I took my long "Matrix" coat tonight so I didn't get cold walking to/from the lap pool.
I felt the water spilling out of my left hand when I was pulling tonight, so I moved my thumb and little finger to keep the water in. It felt like it was chattering when I was pulling.
We finished just in the nick of time again tonight. Breather was going out of the men's locker room when I was coming back.
But, then there was a guy in the hot tub who was checking out my speedo when I walked in. And then two skanky girls came in wearing some really bad smelling perfume. Annoying. :-(.
After swimming, Susan and I went home and had tofu, vegetables, rice and kiwis. She added sugar to my kiwi. :-)!!!!!

12 March 2010: Swimming
2100 yards: 1800 free, 200 back 50 breast and 50 fly. Tonight was the first time we swam in the lap pool and the first time I did more than 2000. :-). They Club heated up the lap pool so that it was warm enough to swim in while they finish re-coating the deck around the big pool. The water in the lap pool is much cleaner and the lights are much brighter. Also, there are backstroke flags so that I don't have to do a crash test to find the end of the lane. :-(.
I am going to try to get more than 5000 this weekend. This is the last weekend before the Club starts the Friday night BBQs. The pool is the main attraction for the BBQs, it's totally full and kids are doing cannonballs all night. There are 3 cover bands that rotate (Roadhouse and Tumbing Dice are two of the bands). And the pool and hot tub are a mess after the BBQ is over.
We finished just in the nick of time tonight....Breather did his first lap just as we were getting out. Breather doesn't put his face in the water and makes this whining sound all the time he is swimming. Annoying!!!!.
After swimming we went home and had burritos. :-).

07 March 2010: Swimming
1600 yards: 1350 free, 150 back 50 breast and 50 fly. Tonight was the last night swimming in the big pool for a while until the deck re-coating is finished. It was cold all night, rained heavily fr a few minutes about 3/4 into the workout, then stopped raining by the time we went home. We went home and had Susan's Super Spaghetti (SSS2) for dinner. :-)!!!!!

I heard, "Oh my God!" and "And then she said..." about 50 times each. :-(. I continued the "Super Squats" program on the Cybex leg press: 20 reps at 205 lbs. (:-. And then I went home and had Super Soup with Susan (SSS) for Dinner. :-)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

01 March 2010: Cardio and Weights
Treadmill, bicycle, Cybex (leg press, calves, pull down, chest pull) and Free Weights (bench press, squats, shoulder press, pullovers and dead lift).
I started the "Super Squats" program on the Cybex leg press: 2 sets of 10 at 200 lbs. (:-). This program adds 5lbs each workout and is guaranteed to add many lbs of muscle.
"Mr. Ellipse Machine was in the free weight room doing bar dips for a while. He is the most annoying person in the gym. :-(. Then, he left and got on.......the Ellipse Machine!!!!!! :-).

28 Feb 2010: Swimming
1600 yards: 1350 free, 150 back 50 breast and 50 fly. I swang (?) my arms wider for backstroke and seemed to go faster. It got cold at the end of the swim again. Then, we went home and had steamed organic vegetables (carrots, kale and broccoli) with organic tofu, organic brown rice with sesame seeds and organic strawberries :-)!!!! And decaffeinated diet coke. :-). "Open happiness"

26 Feb 2010: Swimming
1900 yards: 1625 free, 175 back 50 breast and 50 fly. I changed the intervals to 200 free, then 25 back and 25 free breathing on my right side. I got to watch the full moon while I was doing backstroke. :-) It got kinda cold at the end of the swim. Then, we went home and had vegan polish sausage, mashed organic potatoes with tofutti cream cheese and chives and organic sauerkraut. :-)!!!!

22 Feb 2010: Cardio and Weights
Treadmill, bicycle, Cybex (leg press, calves, pull down, chest pull) and Push Ups at Home. No Free Weights because the gym was super crowded. I pushed the seat back on the Cybex leg press and was able to do 250 lbs. :-) The Cybex machine made a funny sound, like something from a horror movie. :-(. I also watched Olympic Curling on the Big Screen TV, instead of Nancy Grace/Where's Caylee?. :-)

19 Feb 2010: Swimming
1500 yards: 1200 free, 200 back 50 breast and 50 fly. It was really clear tonight and the pool cooled down to a good temperature so that it didn't feel like swimming in the bath tub. :-). Then, I went home and had a hot dog. :-)!!!!

The sweaty guy with the discolored tank top who didn't wipe down the machine after he used it (Gross!) and the two women who were sitting on the Cybex machines yakking were really annoying. :-( But the strongest guy in the weight room was really quiet, so the stupid boys in the room didn't start getting loud. If the quiet guy wasn't there, it would have been like this:

Stupid Boy 2: Oh man, this much is going to kill me
1: You can do it man
2: Ugggh (weight still on the floor)
1: Do it!
2: Ugggh (weight still on the floor)
1: Come on man, you can do it

2: Ugggggggggh.....Bang (weight drops on the floor)
1: That was awesome!

1600 yards: 1350 free, 150 back, 50 breast and 50 fly. I changed my workout by breaking the free up into 250s instead of 500s. This was much more interesting! :-) It got a little bit warmer tonight, but it was still clear.

1250 yards: 1150 free and 100 back. Tonight, it was cold and clear at the pool. It was fun to get back in the water after a few days where it was too cold!
